**Luzborough - North Baddesley cycle way flooding**
UPDATE, Monday 8am: The engineers managed to clear the drains of debris here last night, and the water had substantially run away when they left. Hopefully that should have meant it's OK for this morning's school run.
Jetting will be needed, and that job has been ordered as a matter of urgency.
The problems with flooding along the footpath cycleway along the A27 between the Luzborough Roundabout and North Baddesley had cleared as a result of the drainage work carried out in the Spring.
I'm afraid they have returned in the last week and after the heavy rain this week the footpath was flooded again this weekend, albeit less deeply than before.
I'm conscious of the need for children to safely use this route to access Mountbatten school in the morning. I've therefore asked Hampshire Highways to treat it as a priority and I'm pleased to tell you a team has been there this afternoon. I don't know how succesful they will be in sorting the problem by tomorrow, but if they do not manage to deal with the standing water they will be back tomorrow to investigate further and find a solution.
