One of the highlights of my year is the Awbridge Fete. And this year, to my utter amazement, the lovely and incredibly hard working people at ADVA asked me to open it.
Family Adams-King had a brilliant time. Loads to see. Lots of people with whom to catch up. Choosing the most spectacular Triumph motorbike as best bike (well done Andy & Nancy Milner) and sending 17yo and his friend off to choose the best car.
They chose a beautiful 1960s Rolls Royce, formerly owned by Princess Alexandra, and it turns out owned by an old friend I had not seen for over 20 years.
You might have noticed I love living where we do. Not least because of the wonderful, supportive, kind community that is Awbridge. The village fete shows off the best of that, and the hard work of so very many people goes into it. But most of all Fred and Lynda Tucker. The village would not function anywhere near as well without them.
Thank you everyone for an absolutely brilliant, lovely, special day.
The summer has begun.
