A reminder about the road closures for fresh surface treatments to be laid this coming weekend. In addition there are overnight road closures in Romsey for Network Rail and Southern Water works.
Combine this with the Vintage Show at Broadlands and fetes in Lockerley and Whiteparish and the roads are likely to be pretty busy. Please plan your trip, particularly on Saturday if you are headed into Romsey from the north of the town.
The following road closures will be in place on each day:
Saturday 17th June
- Castle Lane between North Baddesley and Valley Park – closed 09.00 – 15.00
- A27 Shootash between Shootash crossroads and Embley Lane – closed 09.30 to 16.00
- Greatbridge Road between Great Bridge and Yokesford Hill, closed 09.30 – 16.00
- Greatbridge Road railway bridge, closed overnight 23.30 to 08.30 Sunday.
Sunday 18th June
- A3090 Ampfield Hill, Ampfield closed 09.30 to 16.00
- Nutburn Road, North Baddesley, closed 08.00 to 16.00
- A3057 Romsey Road between New Road, Michelmersh and Horsebridge Road closed 09.30 to 16.00
Monday 19th June
- A343 Andover Hill, Middle Wallop closed 09.30 to 16.00
- Old Stockbridge Road, Over Wallop closed 07.30 to 18.00
- North Lane, West Tytherley, closed 07.30 to 18.00
- Kings Somborne Road, Braishfield, closed 07.30 to 18.00
- Station Road, Romsey closed for Southern Water work, overnight 18.00 to 06.00 Tuesday
It may be that they are not working throughout the times shown, the roads only being closed when they are there working.
Why is this being done now? The machinery needed to undertake this kind of surfacing work is specialised, the teams therefore move around the county over the summer undertaking this work. Next weekend is our turn for it to be undertaken.
