I had one of the most fun days last week when I helped Directors from Wheelers Travel choose the winners of their school competition to design a new livery for their fleet of coaches.
Wheelers are a family run coach company based in Romsey, and had been struggling to come up with a brand new livery for their coach fleet. At the moment 85% of their current fleet is plain white, with 6 extra new coaches arriving in April 2023, all waiting for a shiny new livery to go on them.
Wheelers decided that the best ideas would come from youth and so set-up a competition for school pupils to design their new livery. The competition went out to all local schools in Hampshire including Infants, Juniors and Seniors, with the winning artist being rewarded with a £50 Amazon voucher, a £850 coach hire voucher for their school and their design will be displayed on one of our coaches.
The volume of entries was overwhelming and Wheelers asked for my help to pick the winning design and runner up for each year group. I have to say I was very impressed with the quality and creativity of the designs and my congratulations go to every single person who took part. There was an amazing amount of work had gone into the designs and we clearly have a lot of budding local artists.
